Author and site
By Mr. Kelsey M. Hillary
Background and Education
Masters of Religious Education - Loyola New OrleansBachelors of the Arts: Theology - Ave Maria UniversitySpent five years working with the AFC (Apostolate for Family Consecration) contributing to studio work and youth groups.Spent four years teaching theology to 6th-8th grade including Theology of the Body for teens.Spent one year teaching highschool theology.Spent the last four years working on providing websites, media, information for churches and various orginizations.
History of the Author
Mr. Hillary grew up in Louisville KY, and attended many catholic schools and had a strong catholic upbring from his family. In the midst of his highschool years, his family adopted a few sisters and moved to North Carolina. While there, he realized the value of the catholic faith as it was tested when starting college. After the first year, he transfered to Ave Maria to study theology and volenteer at the Apostolate for Family Consecration. While at Ave Maria, he met his wife, Kathryn, and married a few years later. While teaching at schools, Mr. Hillary started studying for a Masters in Religious Education, while also expecting his first child. Since then, Mr. Hillary has had a passion for sharing all the traditions and teachings of the catholic faith.
History of the site
Originally the website was a catholic link site for teens and youth groups. The site had a few renditions under the name “The Aim, where God is the aim.” With shifting interests and the name of the site being already taken, there was a rebranding and purposing called “Act Catholic.” Act Catholic was a site that used more videos and audio podcasts of teachers, youth group leaders, and students talking about various current news happenings vs catholic teaching. Due to a lack of preparation time and guest speakers, the site was shut down, but was still a possible avenue for sanctum360.org. After looking at what was out there in terms of sacred art, architecture, music, and technology, Mr. Hillary thought it best to turn his attention to webdesign and 360 virtual tours for churches. As of now, the site is continuing to better the current virtual tours and expanding its reach free of charge. For paid work for orginizations and businesses, there is now 360VistaMedia.com.
